Eastman Career’s Advisor
Blaire is the Career Advisor for Eastman’s Office of Careers and Professional Development and the University of Rochester’s Gwen M. Green Career and Internship Center. As an advisor, she is part of a comprehensive team focused on providing resources and guidance while identifying the necessary skills for students entering into numerous arts and cultural fields. Providing one-on-one counseling, Blaire assists students in writing resumes, CV’s, and cover letters; interview preparation; exploring teaching philosophies and personal statements; connecting students with alumni, and assisting with job searches and applications.
In 2017, Blaire was selected as Writing Center Consultant with the Eastman School of Music's Writing Center (EWC) - a unique opportunity to assist undergraduate and graduate music students with developing their skills as writers and speakers. Over the course of a year, she worked with over 50 students in a one-on-one environment preparing music-related and non-music related papers, resume’s, biographies, C.V.’s, graduate school applications, websites, and job applications.
In addition, she worked closely with the Center's director to design and instruct freshman writing workshop seminars on topics including Writing About Yourself, Summarizing, Paraphrasing and Quotes, and Speaking Out.
